I love The Onion. So when I was looking for my first copywriting job, instead of sending a cover letter or explaining to recruiters who I am and the type of writing I love (like a normal person), I made this satirical newspaper about my life. It’s both incredibly self-indulgent and my best work.
Knuckle Boys
When I was in college, I wrote, filmed, and edited a mockumentary about fingerboarders, inspired by my love for surf and skate documentaries like Dogtown and Z Boys. It’s about 13 and a half minutes too long, shot on a camcorder we found, mentions Philly way too much, and the dumbest thing I’ve ever made. Also it breaks at least 6 music licensing laws so you have to watch it here.
